about

"Chopping Wood & Carrying Water" is King Tut's debut, and sole, album.

It features 21 songs written over a two year period using mostly acoustic instruments, GarageBand, and Reason. Most of the songs were each composed in one or two sittings with very little post-production or revision.

The album is dedicated to the book, "Be Here Now", by Ram Dass, from which the musical approach, the title, and many of the lyrics were drawn. Though not explicitly a "concept album," it nonetheless hovers around a larger topics of self-discovery and love.

Many of the songs were written for or about specific friends and loved ones, which is why the album feels so comfortable and inviting.

While an initial run of 1,000 CDs was released by Amaro Dolce Records in 2008, the remaining copies are now being made available for purchase again, with all profits devoted to www.bailproject.org.

King Tut Cleveland, Ohio

Mark Boyd (Guitar, Synth, Vocals) and Drew Veres (Drums, Synth), formed King Tut in the summer of 2006 in Bay Village, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. From the beginning, their live shows were loud, intense & full of rhythmic complexity. Though apart at different schools, Mark and Drew practiced daily, working on the songs for the 1st album on Amaro Dolce Records, "Chopping Wood & Carrying Water", ... more
